Yao Leye is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Sichuan University. He also serves as expert of the Library, Information, and Literature Science Discipline Planning Evaluation Group of the National Social Science Fund; member of the Expert Committee of the China Academic Social Sciences and Humanities Library; executive director of the Chinese Information Society of Social Sciences; member of the 3rd Sichuan Provincial Expert Review (Appraisal) Committee; and, vice chairman of the Sichuan Library Society.
Professor Yao is one of the ninth batch of academic and technical leaders in Sichuan Province, and chief expert of the “Arrangement and Study on Library Archives in the Periods of Late Qing Dynasty and Republican China” major project funded by the National Social Science Fund. He presided over and completed more than 10 scientific research projects funded by the National Social Science Fund; co-published 15 monographs, textbooks, and translations; and published more than 80 research papers. He won one first prize of the 6th Higher Education Teaching Achievements of Sichuan Province, 1 third prizes of scientific research outstanding achievements of the Ministry of Education, and 2 second and 4 third prizes of the Sichuan Provincial outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences.
